Snorkeller Fights Tiger Shark

A snorkeller has told how he punched a tiger shark in the face to escape after it sank its teeth into his arm in Western Australia. David Pickering battled with the predator as two children and their mother, also in the group, watched in horror.He suffered deep cuts to his arm during the attack in Coral Bay - the third in the country this month. Mr Pickering has said he was leading a group of snorkellers when the shark struck.

He said: "I turned around and boom, there he was. (The force) was enough to actually bring me forward and under him because I scraped my knee on his belly." Mr Pickering explained how he punched the shark with his other arm and it backed off. He then yelled at the other snorkellers to get out of the water before swimming 100m to shore. Read More HERE
